Dubai cohabitants registration: Identity of residents no longer required

In a recent announcement, Dubai Land Department informed that only the number of occupants needs to be registered, personal data is not mandatory

In an email to residents on Friday, Dubai Land Department informed that only the number of cohabitants is required to be registered, identities and personal data is now made optional.

“As part of Dubai Land Department’s efforts to provide the highest standards of quality of life and enhance the health and safety standards in existing buildings, we would like to inform you that the number of occupants within a rented property must be declared in the system; all other personal data is optional,” the email read, The National reported.

The email focused specifically for renters, while the rules for owners remain unchanged.
